If you are a fan of the hit games Far Cry 3 and Minecraft, then you will absolutely love the Far Cry 3 Minecraft Pack, a free downloadable mod for Minecraft that allows you to experience the best of both worlds.

As an officially sanctioned release from developer Ubisoft, this mod is as close as you can get to playing Far Cry 3 in Minecraft. Every single aspect of the original game has been modified, including hostile enemies, animals, blocks, items and textures. This gives the game an entirely different feel, and the effect is striking. Additional mobs representing the characters Citra, Jason and Vaas have been added to help Far Cry 3 fans feel right at home. Brand new tools, entities, locations and weapons have been added as well, creating a whole new style of game play on top of the original Minecraft engine.

The textures were created by artists Axel Janssen and Yohann Delcourt, while the Far Cry 3 map was painstakingly created by Newcraft City creator Sacr3 (Michael Lambert). For players who enjoy the excitement of exploration and surprise, the mod's creators have also included over 50 Easter eggs in the game among all the different islands and locations.

If you are bored with vanilla Minecraft and want to alter the game play to something a little different, this mod gives the game quite an edge. For existing fans of Far Cry 3, you can experience the world you know so well in a completely new way.

Some may find the installation of the mod to be a stumbling block, as the different pieces that make it up were created for a version of Minecraft released in 2012. However, the developers have made it possible to run any previous version of Minecraft from the same launcher as the current version. This means that if you want to play this particular mod, you will have to downgrade to an earlier version of Minecraft to do so. There are many tutorials available if you have trouble with the installation process, so those who are determined will have no issues getting started.
